Directions to The Studio, Chester Hill House, Convent Lane, South Woodchester GL5 5HR
The Studio is situated above the double garage that you see to your left of the car park. Follow the path at the side of the garage until you come to a front door and just ring the door bell. There is no waiting room, so I would appreciate if you could ring the bell at the agreed time. You are most welcome to wait in the car park if you are early.
From the South/M4
Follow the A46 until you arrive in the village of Nailsworth (about 20 min. from the motorway). When you are in the village there is a crossroad with a mini roundabout, go straight across towards Stroud. When you come into a 40 mph speed limit area you will pass a petrol station on your right. There is a very sharp bend right, then left,
immediately after which you turn sharp left into St. Mary’s Hill, where there is a church a little up the hill. Go up the lane taking the right fork at the top leading you into Convent Lane. I am the third entrance on your right, opposite a 30mph sign and a red letter box.
If you miss this turning continue and take the next left turning signposted South Woodchester. Follow the slope down to Frogmarsh Mill on your right, and opposite there is a round stone house.
Immediately after the round house turn left into Convent Lane. Follow lane up past a farm house on your right, some houses on both sides of the road and then the convent on your left. Continue alongside the convent wall, then you will see my entrance, which is on your left opposite a 30 mph sign and a red letter box.
From Cirencester using the A419
Follow the A419 signposted Stroud. That road takes you past the front of the Royal Agricultural Collage. Go through the countryside for about 7 miles until you see a petrol station followed by The White Horse (Pub) on your left, continue but you will soon need to turn left opposite a very long parking space, this is a very sharp turning signposted Aston Down and Minchinhampton. Follow road which goes through Minchinhampton Common, mind the cattle! In the middle of the common there is a left turning after some rumble strips for Box and Amberley and turn left, and then immediately right to Amberley. This will take you down through Amberly, keep going down a long and steep hill. You will come to a steep T-junction, this is the A46, turn left towards Nailsworth, Bath. Almost immediately you will see a long, separate carpark on your right, just after that you turn right to South Woodchester/Frogmarsh Mill, down a little hill, another T-junction. Turn right, then immediately left just past a round house and you are in Convent Lane. Continue up past what used to be a farm on your right, past a few houses on both sides, past the Convent’s long stone wall on your left. Then you see a red letter box and a 30mph sign, our turning is exactly opposite there.
From the North/M5
Just before Stroud, follow the signposts for the A46 to Bath. Once on the A46 heading south, turn right at the
second South Woodchester/Frogmarsh Mill signposts (just past the lay-by on the right.) Frogmarsh Mill is on your right, and a round house on you left.
Immediately after the round house turn left into Convent Lane. Follow the lane up a steep hill past what used to be a farm on your right , then houses on both sides then you will pass a convent on you left (a long stone wall perimeters the convent) and Chester Hill House is directly after that on the left, opposite the 30mph sign and red post-box.
